The BB in London works with over 2,000 children and young people in over 100 groups across and around London. Groups are staffed by local volunteeers and associated with a church.

The Boys' Brigade is one of the biggest Christian Youth Organisations in the UK & Republic of Ireland. The is committed to seeing lives enriched by supporting children and young people to reach their full potential by providing opportunities to meet together and engage in a range of fun and developmental activities and experiences.

There’s something for every young person whether it’s camping or kayaking, first aid or five a side. Members develop skills, build confidence, make friends, take responsibility and are encouraged to make a real difference in their communities – sharing the values that make us who we are.

Our work with children and young people is made possible thanks to our volunteer leaders who give of their time so generously.

History

The Boys' Brigade was founded in Glasgow on 4th October 1883 by Sir William Alexander Smith. The enthusiasm of local leaders to provide opportunities for young people resulted in one local group in Glasgow being transformed into a worldwide movement that currently operates in over sixty countries around the world.

The first BB Company in London was founded in 1885. The BB quickly grew and, in 1901, the London District of The Boys' Brigade was formed to support those local groups.
